PPC Quickstart
Powered Parachutes are amazingly fun. In many ways flying Powered Parachutes can be exactly what you’d like it to be, fitting into the life you have now, or the life you plan for the future. It can be a social activity, or a wonderful way to be alone. You can fly from a neighbors farm field, or take your PPC with you on your next vacation and fly through some of the most beautiful scenery the world has to offer. Flying these craft is incredibly fun, rewarding and challenging.
While this has proven to be one of the safest ways to fly, training is essential no matter which path you take: Part 103, or Sport Pilot. In brief, you can fly with NO training under Part 103, though the Internet is filled with stories with amazingly poor outcomes, including death, for people who have taken this path. Under Sport Pilot rules you only need 15 hours of flight instruction and pass a ground school test, and once you do, you can legally take up one passenger, something that is illegal under Part 103. Either way, Sport Pilot Academy has online classes that will go a long way towards keeping you safe, and in the case of those working toward the Sport Pilot License, it’s a giant step toward passing the exams!
